Q:  What are your hours of operation?

A:  Sessions at Massage & Beyond are by appointment only, hours are from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Friday.  Appointments are also available after hours or on Saturdays when made in advance.

Q: What type of therapies are offered at Massage & Beyond?

A:  Amy uses a variety of techniques and styles of massage.  These include Swedish, deep tissue, shiatsu, reflexology, reiki, Quantum Touch, aromatherapy, and more.  Each massage is "custom built" around the client's particular needs.

Q:  What is the average length of a session?

A:  Sessions are usually one hour in length, this allows time for a full-body massage with extra time spent on "trouble spots."  Amy also offers 30 minute and 90 minute sessions depending on the situation.  Thirty mintue sessions are good for clients seeking relief for one to two very specific concerns.  Ninety  minute sessions are for clients looking to have a full-body massage as well as specific work for a particular issue (i.e. shoulder or neck injury.)

Q:  I've gotten nauseous after getting a massage.  Is this normal?

A:  Headaches, nausea, dizziness, fever and other symptoms are sometimes reported after getting a massage.  Often called a "healing crisis" these symptoms are a sign of your body detoxing and should not be a cause of worry.  If you experience these issues frequently it may be a sign that you need to change your massage schedule.  Amy will work closely with you to find a schedule that will attempt to reduce these effects.
